Men’s and Women’s models of the S-Works Tarmac SL6 Disc
The S-Works Tarmac Disc 2018 has been designed to be fast everywhere. Whether you’re hitting those long climbs, pacing through windy flats, pushing through Grand Tour stages or local Gran Fondos – this bike has been built to be the most complete race road bike out there. And now it’s been fitted with disc brakes, making it even more complete with ultimate stopping power.
Specialized used advanced aerospace software to revolutionize the makeup of their new FACT 12r carbon. It’s now their most advanced material that has given an allowance of shedding about 200 grams. A 20 percent reduction in the weight of frame – exactly what you need when you’re turning those legs for a PR on your next hill ascent.
To ensure that the new S-Works Tarmac Disc is stiff and versatile, Specialized started by enhancing their Rider-First Engineered™ technology. With this overhaul, they managed to shed some serious weight while also updating the frame geometry based on data gathered from Retül and input from professional riders. The end result in a performance road bike that’s has a super responsive front end and short wheelbase giving riders instant response and optimal power transfer. These characteristics are most sought for riders who are looking for an all-around road bike.
Key highlights of the S-Works Tarmac Disc are:
- S-Works FACT 12r carbon frame, fork, handlebars and seatpost
- Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 9170 hydraulic disc front and rear brakes
- Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset
- Roval CLX 50 Disc carbon, tubeless-ready 50mm depth wheels with DT Swiss 240 intervals and CeramicSpeed bearings
- Specialized Turbo Cotton front and rear tires
The Men’s S-Works Tarmac Disc is available in 49, 52, 54, 56, 58 and 61 frame sizes in a black and silver highlight colour. The Women’s S-Works Tarmac Disc is available in 44, 49, 52, 54 and 56 frame sizes in a chameleon and acid red colour scheme.
We’ve noted some slight differences in the frame geometry between the Tarmac Disc and non-disc versions – particularly in the chain stay length and wheel base. Take a look at the frame geometry table for measurements.
Bike Depot will be stocking these at each our three store locations – you can buy the S-Works Tarmac Disc in Toronto, Pickering or Thornhill. Book an appointment and reserve and view your Tarmac Disc.
